This support group is open to adults interested in understanding the impact of nutrition on mental health and exploring how to make long-term lifestyle changes. We now have significant research evidence which demonstrates the powerful effect of changing nutrition and eating habits to improve mood, thoughts, and overall wellbeing. However, lifestyle changes are often difficult to maintain. It is important to have a deeper understanding about how and why we eat in order to develop new strategies that support improved health and sustainable lifestyle habits.
Topics will include: emotional eating, mindfulness, food addiction, and intuitive eating. This group will be lead by Andrea Cook, PhD, Clinical Psychologist and Functional Medicine Health Coach, based on her textbook Nutritional Psychology: Understanding the Relationship between Food and Mental Health.
This group is not appropriate for someone with an active eating disorder.
